The Mothers’ Union
The St David’s Parish Mothers’ Union group meets in the parish hall on the first Monday of every month. We have 31 members, some of whom are housebound. Our group leader is our vicar the Revd. Canon Dr Patrick Thomas and our Treasurer is Miss Pat Kingsbury.
Last October, we had a very special occasion; it was Mrs Mary Stevens’s 100th birthday. A Service of Thanksgiving was held to celebrate her life and a Tea Party was provided in the hall. We were joined by our Diocesan President, Mrs Ann Gill and our Deanery Leader, Mrs Eiryth Thomas. Mrs Stevens has been a member of the Mother’s Union for over 60 years. We are sorry to hear she is unwell at the moment and wish her a speedy recovery. We try to invite speakers as often as possible and the Vicar of Llechryd joined us at our February meeting.
Our annual dinner was held at the Falcon Hotel on Monday 11th February 2008.
